The ‘Drill Hall’
The Garnethill area has a lot of amazing buildings. Actually, all of them have nice shapes, good designs and a great heritage history. One of them is called the “Drill Hall” at the corner of Hill Street and Rose Street, near St. Aloysius Church. It was built in 1897. This building has strong and nice red colour walls. To begin with, it was used by the 5th and 6th Highland Light Infantry Volunteers Brigade but was later bought by The Glasgow School or Art in 1967. It was then called Haldane Building and has been a part of the School until now. I see this building like a small castle for training and improving the army in the past. By Zryan |
