Cultural differences 1
I am from Kuwait. My job was cashier. I’ve been in Glasgow since October 2017. My country is the warmest country in the world. Some days in summer the temperature is above 50 degrees that’s why I like the weather here in Glasgow because I don’t miss this weather in my country. In our country they call us Bedouin or ‘stateless people’ which means Kuwaiti without documents. I worked as grocery and vegetable shop deliveries. When I came to Glasgow, I had three kids and now I have four kids. I am very happy to be in Glasgow because I know my kids will have good future here. They like Glasgow. They have friends who speak English. They go to school now and they can build their future here. There are differences between our culture and UK culture but we respect it. The people here are very kind and the life here is much better. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to tell my story. |
