Cultural differences 5
I came from Yemen where my job was an anaesthetist. I came to live in Glasgow six months ago. I like Glasgow because of the beauty of its nature, which combines green areas, rivers and urban civilisation. My ambition is to improve my English language and to be able to use my Masters degree, prepare for my PhD studies and practice my job as an anaesthetist. I like Scotland, the good natured and friendly people as well as the picturesque and charming nature of the land which combines the city and the countryside, the modern and historical, as well as the vast green areas and rainy atmosphere. Yemen is an Arab country located in southwest Asia; its area is approximately 550000 km square; its population is approximately 25 million; its language is Arabic; its main religion is Islam; average age for male 65 years and for female 68 years. Yemen is one of the oldest civilisation in the world and has been described by the ancient Greek geographer named Ptolemy as Eudaimon Arabia or Happy Arabia. The climate in Yemen is a dry and hot and there is no distinction between the four seasons except the winter season which is characterised by rain, unlike the weather in Scotland which is characterised by strong changes according to the season, also you may see four seasons in one day. |
