Glasgow Film Theatre
One of Garnethill’s most famous and historical buildings is the GFT – Glasgow Film Theatre. It opened on 18th May 1939. It was B-listed in 1988 by Historic Scotland. Screen 1 has 404 seats and Screen 2 has 142 as well as room for 2 wheelchairs. Screen 3 was built after 2013. It is an independent film theatre and is known worldwide as the first art cinema in Scotland and the second art house in Britain. Keeping this building until now has made me feel happy and excited. I hope it will be one of the cultural heritages for the next generations. By Semira |
